I'M BACK!!!

After a few months of recovery I'm back! In my absence in posting we've added 3 new investigators and investigated the Bell Witch Cave! Unfortunately no evidence showed up in the mini investigation, but we'll be doing a full investigation soon. While using the Ovilus X we did get something that was relevant to the cave itself, but wasn't caught on tape. We were in the first room of the cave, (there is a stonebox Indian grave of young girl there) and the Ovilus said "Return Indian girl bury possible".  We hope to be going back in soon to see if we can get more evidence and hopefully get it on tape this time!

Another apology

I'm having some complications from my foot surgery so I haven't been posting as often. I apologize for the delays in posting. We are still working on background information on a case that's been throwing us some curve balls. There are 2 supposed suicides in the home, but the death certificates say otherwise. Even though the family has validated the suicides.. It's very curious to me.

1st product review

The first product review I’m doing is on the Zoom H4n portable digital audio recorder. This amazing recorder features the following:

·       Built-in X/Y stereo mics that record at either 90º or 120º

·       Four channel simultaneous recording using built-in and external mics

·       Large 1.9 inch LCD screen and improved interface for easy operation

·        MP3 recording for increased recording time

·        Built-in reference speaker to check recordings

·        Shock resistant rubberized body for improved chassis protection

·        Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) compatible time stamp and track marker

·        Auto-record and pre-record feature so you never miss a moment

·        Variable speed playback capability for "phrase training"

·        Stamina mode enables 10 hours of continuous battery life

·        Onboard mid-side matrix decoder for additional miking possibilities

·        Built-in mounting joint for tripod and mic stand mounting

·        USB 2.0 port for faster file transfer

·        XLR inputs with phantom power allow recording with any mic

·        Supports plug-in power type external mics

·        Hi-Z Inputs for recording guitar and bass

·        Studio effects onboard, including guitar and bass amp modeling

·        USB audio interface capability

·        Low-cut filter to reduce noise

·        Normalizing and file splitting functions

·        Mono mix function

·        Onboard tuner and metronome

·        Includes 1 GB SD card, wind screen, mic clip adapter, AC adapter, USB cable, protective case and Cubase LE recording software

·        Optional remote control (ZOOM-RC4) available

In short this digital recorder is extremely user friendly. It has very powerful microphones that can pick up even the faintest whispers. It is slightly on the expensive side but really worth the money. It does come with a USB cable for quick transfer and can hold a 32 gb SD/SDHC card. I personally love stamina mode, this allows for up 11 hours of recording time. The recorder is heavy and a little on the bulky side, but nothing that can’t be overlooked. A few tips..

1.     Get permission from the owner first. For public places along with permission notify local police of what you’re doing there. It’s best NOT to go to jail!

2.     NEVER go alone! If you get hurt who’s going to help you?

3.     Always tell someone where you are going and when you should be back. This should be a responsible person who will be willing to come look for you.

4.     We recommend that you visit the location in the daytime before you do a nighttime investigation. Take notes and be aware of any hazards including holes in the floors and ceilings. Bring a respirator if needed for dust and asbestos.

5.     If it is an unsafe area (bad neighborhood, etc.), it’s probably best that you don’t go.

6.     ALWAYS have a flashlight with plenty of extra batteries and a cell phone that is fully charged. (And a car charger just in case you experience battery drainage.)

7.     If it’s an abandoned building or home, make notes of all of the exits so you can make a quick get away.

8.     Be aware that some of those “abandoned” buildings may not be completely abandoned. There could be squatters inside, so look for signs that there may be someone living there that may be hiding. This could be extremely dangerous.
